“Has the jury reached a verdict?”

The court went silent as Choi Seung Hyun stood, handcuffed and awaited the jury’s decision.

The head juror took a look at the judge and stood, “Yes we have your honor. We the jury find the defendant. Choi Seung Hyun…”

Seung Hyun closed his eyes as his lawyer placed her hand on his, patting it gently.

“Not guilty of all charges against him.”

Just as the verdict was read, a roar sounded in the courthouse as the judge hit his mallet in hopes of calming everyone down, “Silence!!”

“HOW THE FUCK DID YOU BASTARDS FIND THIS MURDERER INNOCENT!!!”

“Who said that? Cease or you will be held in contempt of the court!”

A man stood up from his seat and ran towards the bench jumping over the door, rushing towards Seung Hyun, grabbing his collar, “You mother fucker! YOU KILLED MY SISTER!!! IF THE COURTS WON’T FIND JUSTICE FOR HER I’LL FUCKIN DO IT MYSELF!!!”

“Ji Yong! I swear!” Seung Hyun pleaded, “I did not kill Ji Ying!!”

“ Bailiff!!! Arrest that young man!” the judge called out as the court continued to erupt in rage.

“I’LL KILL YOU TO GET REVENGE FOR JI YING!!” Ji Yong said as he punched Seung Hyun to the ground and reached towards his back for a gun.

But before he could reach out for his gun, a jury member saw the gun he had been able to sneak in unnoticed, “KYAHHHHHHHHHHHH HE HAS A GUN!!!!!!!!!!”

Hearing this everyone in the courthouse began to scramble towards the exits as the police tried to enter the courthouse only to be blocked by them.

“Ji Yong.. what are you doing… do you think Ji Ying wants you do to this??” Seung Hyun said still on the ground struggling to get up.

“DON’T EVEN SAY HER NAME BASTARD!! DIEEEEEEEEE” Ji Yong yelled as tears flowed.

Just as Ji Yong pulled out his gun, Seung Hyun’s lawyer quickly twisted Ji Yong’s arm causing him to drop the gun into her other hand and pinned him face down toward the table, “I know you want to seek revenge for your sister, but Seung Hyun isn’t the one who murdered her. Doing this won’t help your sister’s soul rest in peace.”

“GET THE FUCK OFF ME BITCH!! I’M GOING TO KILL HIM!!” Ji Yong said as he tried to break free of her hold, “YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING!!”

The lawyer looked around as the masses of people moved out of the way for the police to enter, then leaned close to Ji Yong saying, “I know that if you don’t get out of here now, your life is over.. and I know that Ji Ying would cry if I let you do this.. “

“Huh?” Ji Yong said confused at what the lawyer said.

“Run towards the window, jump out and run to my car and go..” the lawyer said as she unloaded the gun, handing it back to Ji Yong and giving him her keys, “It’s the black GTR parked in front … now go!”

Pretending if Ji Yong had broken free of her hold, the lawyer pushed Ji Yong towards the window and fell back hitting the table and fell unconscious.

“Officers!!! Arrest that man!!” the judge yelled as the officers rushed towards Ji Yong. Unsure of why the lawyer had done this, Ji Yong stuffed the gun back behind him and jumped out of the window and ran.

Seung Hyun seeing Lawyer Lee unconscious started calling for help, “Someone!! Call a medic!! Lawyer Lee is hurt!”

The bailiff quickly ran to unlock Seung Hyun’s handcuffs and helped him tend to Lawyer Lee. Just as quickly she had fallen unconscious, Lawyer Lee slowly regained consciousness, “I’m .. ok…”

“Soon Ri ah..” Seung Hyun said as he helped her up but was stopped by the same gentle hand as before as she shook her head and smiled then turned to the judge.

“Your honor.. is my defendant free to go now?” Lawyer Lee said weakly.

“Yes yes.. fill out the paperwork and you are free to go Seung Hyun.” The judge said as he recomposed himself taking back order of his court, “Court dismissed.”

“This is why criminals continue to do what they wish without fear of the law…” a man in a black suit said as he continued to watch the proceedings by the door then slowly walking out, “Pathetic..”

As lawyer Lee and Choi Seung Hyun make their way out of the courthouse, the two get swarmed by reporters.

How does it feel to be acquitted of all charges against you?

11 different murders… the murderer on the loose.. with you being or have been the only suspect.. what will you do now?


Officer Choi.. I mean Mr. Choi what are you going to do now that you have been discharged from the GongJu Police Agency?

Seung Hyun unable to say anything just followed lawyer Lee to the car waiting for them. As the door closed, Seung Hyung looked towards his lawyer, “Soon Ri ah.. why didn’t you just let him kill me?”

Soon Ri looked at Seung Hyun as she pulled out the clip from her pocket and placed it in his hands, “Because I promised Ji Ying, I would protect the two of you.”

“…”

“There are your belongings..” Soon Ri said as she leaned back into her seat.

Seung Hyun looked at the box beside him and took out phone and wallet. He opened his wallet and looked at his police adge and picture of him and Ji Ying together as tears began to fall onto the photo.

Choi Seung Hyun, who had been recently been charged with the brutal murders of 11 individuals including Kwon Ji Ying, rising designer in the fashion industry earlier today was acquitted of all 11 first degree murder charges and let go. Choi Seung Hyun, former top inspector in the Gongju Police Agency was arrested for the murders 5 months ago after a tip lead officers to the scene of the crime where they found Choi Seung Hyun standing over the body of Ms Kwon Ji Ying with the murder weapon in hand. Now with no other suspects, the families of those murdered can only weep at the loss of their family. This is Kang May Eun reporting live from Gongju Courthouse for SBS.

“So… he’s free hmm” Shireo said as he poured acid over his used clothes, gloves and scalpel in the bathroom while listening to the television from the other room, “I guess the police aren’t as stupid as they seem.”

Shireo took one last look at himself in the mirror as he fixed his hair putting on glasses while laughing. He makes his way towards the room looking at Chun Hee’s mutilated body with her wrists and tendons slit, her own hair used as rope around her neck and as blood continued to flow from the deep gashes all over her body.

He walks toward her with a glass noticing her faint breaths begin to speed up as he gets closer and smiles.

“Chun Hee ajumma don’t worry.. I’m done playing with you … Didn’t I promise it was going to be fun? Was it as fun for you as it was for me?” Shireo said as he leaned closer towards the trembling Chun Hee and gave her a kiss on the cheek and placed the glass down on the dresser, “I’ll just leave them next to you ok? Maybe.. just maybe if the medics come in time.. they can put them back in… but you know I did it for you… I didn’t want you to see how much pleasure you were having.. remember… you told him the same thing when you used to blindfold him and have your way with him..”

With saying that, Shireo’s smile and sadistic disposition faded to a cold hearted stare and angry voice as he stood up, “Now you know how it feels.”

Not knowing if he was finished with her or not..Chun Hee began to panic and struggle. Shireo took steps back towards the door and watched as she fell to the ground opening the wounds even more bleeding to death.

With no remorse on his face, Shireo exited the room and made way to his car opening his trunk and pulled out a cap and stole, putting them on. He got in to his car and drove turning on music and looked at the opened card in the other seat addressed to Chun Hee. Then he looked at himself in the mirror as he parked in front of the library, “Senior Inspector Shim Changmin huh.. hahaha.. catch me if you can…let’s see who is smarter”

“hmmm.. hello?”

“Changmin ah.. where are you ? Your graduation starts in an hr.. are you already at the Academy?” Changmin’s father said.

“Huh?” Changmin quickly got up and looked at his surroundings, “De Appa.. I’m in front of the library.”

“Eh? I thought the graduation was happening in the Rose Garden?”

“It is..” Changmin said as he wondered how he got there only to get interrupted by his classmate Jung Yunho knocking on his window and pointing at his watch, “I’ll see you at the graduation ok? Bye.”

He opened his car door and stepped out.

“Minnie yah what are you doing? We are going to be late.. Aiissh..” Yunho said as he put his arm over Changmin’s shoulder and hit him on the head, “A nerd till the end huh?”

“What do you mean?”

“You know all our grades are in and you read every book in here.. why did you ditch us at the bar last night to come here? We had a special surprise for you too since it‘s your birthday today.. but I guess your true love are these books huh?”

“huh?”

“Never mind… “ Yunho sighed looking at his confused friend, “Innocent till the day you die huh? You’re never going to get laid huh? You goodie goodie.. come on! Let’s go graduate and kiss this school goodbye!”
