“Park Ho Yun…. Park Tae Yang… Shim Changmin…”

“Appa.. just look at our boy .. “ Changmin’s mother said as she held her husband’s hand and watched her son walk onto the stage and receive his degree.

“Congratulations son.” The chancellor of the academy said as he handed him, his diploma and shook his hand.

Changmin bowed and accepted his diploma, “Thank you sir.”

“Shim Changmin has completed his studies in Criminal Profiling at the top of this year’s class and has accepted the position of Senior Inspector in the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in charge of Homicide and Criminal Profiling. I’m sure you will bring honor to your family, the academy and all of Korea.” The chancellor said as he stepped aside allowing Changmin to step up to the podium.

“Thank you Chancellor Han… I hope I do not let those words of praise go to waste. Today we stand here at the end of one journey only to step forward to into another where we have a chance to make a difference for our country, protecting our people from the crimes that plague our streets. An old proverb says that one’s eyes are the windows to one’s soul. As we step forward we will look into the eyes of those who would do harm and see if they have a soul, but we will not be the judge of that. Justice is blind of all emotions, as bringers of justice, we must remember to serve our duties free of prejudice and emotion and leave that to the people to lay judgement. I have been given a great honor to study with the future leaders and enforcers of justice and only can see a brighter future for all of Korea.. Congratulations Class of 2009.” With saying that Changmin took off his cap and tossed it into the air as the rest of the class follows suit and those in the crowd cheered.

“Changmin ah… we are so proud of you.” His father said as Changmin walked towards his parents through the crowd and gave him a hug.

“I couldn’t have this day with out you and umma..” Changmin smiled as he pulled out a rose from his sleeve, “Thank you for all you’ve done for me umma...”

“Oh my Minnie!!” his mother said embracing her son as tears fell, “Umma is soo proud of you…”

“Umma haha” Changmin laughed as he wiped her tears and hugged her, but suddenly a familiar sound arose, “uhh.. hehehe…”

“Haha” Changmin’s mother laughed as she wiped her tears and pinched his cheeks, “Always my little hungry Minnie… Come on” She said as she linked her arms with her husband at one side and her son on the other, “Lets go feed my Minnie before he eats my rose.”

“Hahaha…” His father laughed as he reached over and patted Changmin on the head.

“Umma… appa..” Changmin said as his face turned red in a whining voice.

“Arasuh…. We’ll stop that now.. since you are a man now.”

“Appa to you he is a man but to me he will always be my Minnie.” His mother said pouting as they got into the car.

“So to Minho’s then?” Changmin’s father said as he started up the car and turned on the radio.

“That sounds great appa.” Changmin said as he held his mother’s hand and rested his head in her lap.

“Inspector Kim.” the Commissioner General said, “Please come into my office.”

On the other line, Inspector Kim responded as he finished typing up a report, fixing his glasses, “Yes sir”

Inspector Kim entered his superior’s office and bowed, “You wanted to see me Commissioner General?”

“Yes.. please take a seat.” The Commissioner General said as he turned his seat to face the Inspector who did as instructed.

“Jae Joong, you no longer have to work on the embezzlement case any longer. You are being re-assigned to take on a new case.” The Commissioner said as he slid a manila folder towards the young inspector, “A series of murders have occurred in Seoul and no suspects have been identified yet.”

Jae Joong looked down at the folder and opened it looking over the details of the murders, “These all seem to be in different patterns, in different parts of Seoul in varying ages… similar to the Kwon case from half a year ago…”

“Yes.. the officials in Seoul are stumped, right now they assume that it is a gang committing these crimes.. Another speculation that it might be Choi Seung Hyun or ”

“No.. it’s one person..” Jae Joong said as he turned the folder around and pointed, “Though it looks like it might have been a group attack on the victim, but look at the state of the apartment to be exact the door or even the windows.”

“What do you mean Jae Joong.” The commissioner said as he studied the pictures, ”You mean.. I see it”

“There is no sign of a forced entry, if the perpetrator was actually a group of people as the police in Seoul think, why was there not multiple signs of a forced entry, from the report it showed that there was no sign of forced entry and that when police arrived at the scenes of the crime the door and the windows were locked. “

“What are your thoughts then? “

“I can’t say for sure but it might be a person that the victim had contact with and not some random attack, it had to have been planned.”

“Jae Joong..” the commissioner said as he leaned back in his chair, “this just showed why I know I have not made a mistake by requesting your re-assignment.”

“You chose to re-assign me ? But why?”
